Goal action plan
The government of the Netherlands will invest a total of EUR 400 million for nutrition
interventions in the period 2021-2030. We aim to assist 32 million undernourished people to graduate to a situation in which they have access to a year-round more diverse and adequate diet. In order to achieve this goal, we want to promote structural changes in the food environments for vulnerable people and their demand for healthy diets. We think that such ambitions and required food system transformation can especially be realized in countries where all stakeholders (including governments) want to be part of the solution. We therefore support both local and international organisations to work jointly on market-based solutions and on strengthening the implementation of nutrition relevant policies in countries like Benin, Nigeria, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia and Mozambique. Next to this, the Government of the Netherlands continues to support international organisations that improve the nutrition intake of vulnerable people by creating access to relevant nutrition activities in selected countries with relatively weak local capacities and more fragile settings.
