Goal action plan

Engage political leaders and elected representatives in nutrition platforms

Ensure functioning of nutrition platforms for effective implementation of nutrition-related acts, policies, strategies and plans

Promote and engage nutrition champions from the government, academia, civil society, private sectors and youth to advocate nutrition agenda

Ensure adequate annual resource allocation to meet SDG nutrition targets

To quantify the ‘quality of governance’ in relation to national plans of action to accelerate improvements in nutrition an innovative metric -NGI will be developed. NGI will be used to assess self-reported practices of, and perceptions held by, administration officials tasked with implementing government policy at the national and sub-national level.Six domains i.e., Understanding Nutrition and related responsibilities; Collaboration; Financial Resources; Nutrition Leadership, Capacity, and Support will be measured.

NGI score will be calculated through surveys and the median NGI score will be compared to see the improvement in nutrition governance across these years. Based on these NGI scores, NGI will be ranked into 5 equal parts from lowest to highest score.

Moreover, it’s an innovative metric, so we are yet to finalize the methodologies and adapt it in Nepalese context. During these years with the technical support from DP in particular USAID we will be developing this tool. So, we will revise the target and express in appropriate unit of measurment accordingly down the line once the tool is finalized.
