In five years, the targeted 67 high burden districts of the country will be covered for nutrition specific, preventive and therapeutic interventions. The aim is to start from the cohort of children during pregnancy and

support vulnerable mothers and children for first 1000 days (90 % of under 5 population and 90% of PLWs). Moreover, the adolescent girls (10-19 years) enrolled in schools would be reached with the support of education departments and those of out of schools will be reached through CBHWs including LHWs/ Nutrition Counselors.

Specific Goal:

Tackling malnutrition induced stunting in Pakistani children through improved nutrition status of population, especially, adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating women, and male and female children under 2 years of age through well informed, coordinated and effective government leadership.

Project Objectives:

1. To reduce stunting to 32% from 40.2% in 5 years with an average of 1% reduction in first two years (year 1 &2) and 2% in next three years (Year 3&4&5)

2. Reduce wasting to 10% from 17.7% with an average of 1.5 percent reduction per year.

Specific outcomes:

The above specific goal of Federal Nutrition Program will be achieved through the proposed project aiming at two specific outcomes.
