The data included in the 2026 Global Nutrition Report

The 2026 Global Nutrition Report draws on datasets compiled and curated by the Independent Expert Group (IEG) of the Global Nutrition Report (GNR) and PATH as the Host of the GNR. These datasets underpin the analyses and findings presented in the report and are made publicly available to support transparency, reuse and further analysis.

The datasets are provided in an Excel workbook named 2026_gnr_thematic_report_data.xlsx. The datasets are:

  • Nutrition Accountability Framework (NAF) Commitment Tracker
  • Food systems framework
  • Substantive accountability
  • Gender integration

Each sheet within the workbook contains a unique identifier field (commitment_id) to enable users of these datasets to link commitments across datasets.

The Data Dictionary sheet contains information on each field appearing in each dataset, including a description of the field, data type (e.g., text, date/time, etc.), the corresponding question from the registration form (if applicable) and any comments to understand the field.

Users are strongly encouraged to consult the documentation before analysis.

NAF Commitment Tracker

The NAF Commitment Tracker dataset contains commitments registered in the NAF, along with associated progress updates reported by commitment makers. The dataset underpins all analyses in Chapter 6 of the 2026 Global Nutrition Report. The dataset used for the report reflects an extract of the NAF Commitment Tracker data as of 12 September 2025 and is composed of the following sheets:

  • The commitment sheet contains all commitment-level information.
  • The progress sheet contains progress updates for each commitment.

Where commitments or progress updates were originally submitted in a language other than English, relevant text fields have been translated into English for consistency and accessibility. Original submissions are retained by the GNR.

Food systems framework

The food systems framework dataset captures how Nutrition for Growth (N4G) commitments integrate food systems transformation and food-health systems linkages. The dataset supports the analysis in the ‘Commitment patterns: Food systems and food–health integration’ and ‘Alignment with the food systems framework and at the food–health intersection’ sections in Chapter 6 of the 2026 Global Nutrition Report.

The dataset draws on review and analysis completed by the University of Essex and has been further structured and harmonised by the Global Nutrition Report Host for use within this workbook.

The food_systems sheet contains all new and derived fields that were used for the content analysis.

Substantive accountability in government commitments

The substantive accountability dataset contains data used to assess the extent to which government commitments from the Paris 2025 N4G Summit integrate financing, resilience, and equity considerations. The dataset supports the analysis presented in the ‘Substantive accountability in government commitments’ section in Chapter 6 of the 2026 Global Nutrition Report.

The dataset draws on review and analysis completed by the Tohoku University and has been further structured and harmonised by the GNR Host for use within this workbook.

The accountability sheet contains all derived fields that were used for the content analysis.

Gender integration

The gender integration dataset contains data used to assess the extent to which commitments from the Paris 2025 N4G Summit integrate gender considerations. The dataset supports the content analysis presented in the ‘Gender integration in Nutrition for Growth commitments: Accountability gaps’ section in Chapter 6 of the 2026 Global Nutrition Report.

The dataset draws on review and analysis completed by the Micronutrient Forum, the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement Secretariat and World Vision International, and has been further structured and harmonised by the Global Nutrition Report Host for use within this workbook.

The gender_integration sheet contains all new and derived fields that were used for the content analysis.
