About the event
This high-level thematic session at Rome Nutrition Week 2026, launched the 2026 Global Nutrition Report: Integrating food and health systems for climate-resilient nutrition.
As climate change, conflict and economic pressures increasingly strain food and health systems, nutrition outcomes remain uneven. This session explored why intentional integration across food, health and related systems, with nutrition at the centre, can accelerate development gains, strengthen resilience and advance healthy diets for all.
Co-organised in collaboration with the European Commission and the governments of Canada, France, Germany, Ireland and the United Kingdom, the discussion focused on how policymakers, commitment makers and practitioners can better navigate trade-offs, invest in integrated approaches and strengthen accountability in a changing world.
The session objectives were to:
- Highlight why intentional integration action across systems is critical as pressures intensify.
- Explore how investment in shared infrastructure enables more resilient responses to shocks.
- Foster honest dialogue on navigating trade-offs, grounded in country leadership and context.
- Surface gaps in accountability, showing that financing and follow-through are needed
- Introduce a new framework for coherent, climate‑resilient nutrition action across food and health systems.
